Moofu, Me and the Dragons!

I don't know where to stat today as there is so much going on at the moment! I have posted my views about the recent controversy with Sam and the College on her blog page so you can enjoy reading my rant there! Despite the issue I certainly enjoyed seeing my fabulous boss on the News at Ten last night!

I guess I should start by explaining the title of my blog today as it is a bit random! Moofu is the name of my boyfriend Nick's business, me is me! and the Dragons are as you can see in the picture Peter Jones from the Dragons Den.
I have just got back from London after attending the BT Essence of the Entrepreneur awards with my boyfriend Nick who was one of twenty winners out of thousands of applicants nationwide. I mentioned in an earlier blog that he had a photo shoot last year with a famous photographer called Rankin and the pictures of the twenty winners were on display at the OXO building in Southbank wednesday night hence my not teaching in Liskeard this week!
Peter Jones is the famous face of the BT Entrepreneur Awards, he gave a speech and presented the winners with their certificates. I had joked about getting
a picture with him before the event as he is soooo tall and I am tiny but didn't think we'd get the chance but after a few glasses of wine and the event being very intimate the opportunity presented itself and he was happy to have a picture taken with me. He took the mick out if my size by crouching down so you can't really see how tall he is next to me, I got a good grope of him though and have to say what a lovely man he is, very inspiring and he had a lot of time for everyone at the event.

Nick is well over 6ft tall and yo
u can see him and Peter in the next picture when he was presenting Nick with his certificate how tall he really is!

Duncan Ballentine also attended and again was kind enough to sign Nicks certificate and allow us to take his picture.

Nick and I had such a great time at this event, we made a good networking team and enjoyed talking to the other nominees. Nick made some good contacts and we left quite drunk as the staff kept topping up our drinks every 5 mins so we don't really know how many glasses of free wine we had!
We were also celebrating our 2 year anniversary so Nick booked a very swish hotel for us to stay in and we enjoyed breakfast and a stroll around Canary Wharf the next day.

Again I am beaming with pride for Nick and his business and appreciate him involving me and taking me to such wonderful events. He always introduces me to everyone he talks to and tells them what I do with pride, we both enjoyed the reaction from the photographer Rankin when I told him I'm a Fitness Pole Dancing Instructor, he must have said wow 3 times and seemed very impressed! Moofu is doing well despite a rough end to last year and I have nothing but respect and admiration for Nick for all the hard work he puts in and what he is achieving (even though I do moan sometimes when he is soooo busy! Sorry baby!) He really is something special, a true Entrepreneur and the love of my life! Well done babe, in your own words, "Keep going and don't stop to look back!!"

Merry Christmas The Art of Dance!

Hello Everyone, I have done my last lesson of the year tonight and have come home and started the Christmas boozing already! I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and express how much I have enjoyed teaching all my lovely students this year and how proud I am of the achievements in my classes, my Liskeard students are coming along beautifully with their pole dancing! I have been teaching for a year now and it has flown by! I will be braving Drake Circus to do some shopping tomorrow, well my boyfriend Nick will be, he hasn't done any yet! and I'm just mooching, then I'm off to my Dads for the evening and waking up at my house Christmas day. I will be having Christmas lunch with Nick's parents and a party at my place with my friends in the evening. Finally I will be fitting a visit with my Mummy boxing day in Polperro and enjoying another Christmas lunch and a cliff walk! I am looking forward to the time off the next couple of weeks especially spending time with my lovely boyfriend who works sooo hard and also deserves a well earned rest!

Before I go and enjoy the Christmas festivities I would like to say a special congratulations to one of my students Tracey Mox
ham who is 35, has two children and lives in Liskeard. She joined us in September for pole dancing lessons at the Liskeard venue and has also had private lessons in Plymouth and at my home. Tracey's boyfriend Rob has been fighting pirates in Africa the last 4 months and on a mission to boost her fitness and confidence Tracey decided to give him a treat on his return for Christmas! We have been working together on a routine for Tracey to perform to her boyfriend when he gets back. She told Rob she started pole dancing lessons and he bought her a pole so she has been working very hard the last couple of months to perfect her routine, we decided on the song Black Velvet for the performance and I have been delighted with Tracey's progression. Rob knows she will perform for him when he gets back but I don't think he will be expecting the amazing tricks and fluidity that Tracey has achieved. I have been so impressed with how quick she has progressed she can easily invert and her routine includes the Gemini, Butterfly and a beautifully controlled Seated Fall Back! It is very impressive for a lady who has only been having lessons since September! So good luck for the big night Tracey! hope it goes well and I'm sure Rob will get the Christmas present of his life! I am very proud of you and have thoroughly enjoyed our lessons your so lovely and genuine and I look forward to hearing about your performance in the new year!

On that note, Merry Christmas to a
ll at the Art of Dance, see you in the New Year!

Holiday!!

Feels like I never went away now! Until I look at my fantastic pictures! I had a great time in Costa Teguise, Lanzarote a couple of weeks ago. I was disappointed with the weather at first, we arrived to rain and cloud which put me in quite a bad mood the first couple of days, I felt a bit lost and didn't know what to do on holiday with no sun??
But the weather cleared up quickly and we enjoyed some fabulous sunshine. I went with Nick, my sister, her husband and close friends. The company was great and we spent most of our time just laughing at eachother!
It was a busy holiday and I didn't get the rest I was planning but I didn't mind as we only had a week out there and wanted to do as much as possible.

The picture above is the day we spent on the beach and just about to get on a banana boat, it was great fun, I was posing as usual and ended up falling in and taking the others with me! I was doing a kind of Side Spin pose and thinking I was very clever until I hit the water very hard!

One of the main highlights for me was watching a real Drag Queen Show, I love Drag Queens and would love to go to Vegas to see the real deal, although I don't think they get any better than the two we saw in Lanzarote
at a place called Cactus Jacks. The first night the entertainment was a bit naff but the second night we caught the last part of this Drag Queen Show which was fab, after meeting them and giving them a hug I found out they were back on monday and I managed to get front row seats in the pub! It really was one of the best nights I've ever had, they were hilarious, and they picked on all of our partners.
Poor Nick got dragged on stage and had about 5 l
ollipops put in his mouth, the last lolly was pulled out from underneath her skirt and was the size of a dinner plate! Everything about them was so fantastic, their outfits were amazing, stage presence, make up, legs, bums! I was in complete awe of them and can't recommend enough going to watch a show like that, they are so cheeky and funny! They should have a website in about a month so I'll post the details, well worth a look!

This was before the show, I just love them!

The next highlight for me and I couldn't believe it was an afternoon on a huge catermeran. For 69 euro's each we spent 4 hours on the boat including a lovely lunch, ride on a jet ski, diving off the boat and snorkling. It was manned by a crew of 5 who were so friendly and fun. There was a bar and on the way back they cranked up the music and one of the male members was gesturing pole dancing on one of the poles that held up the middle section of the boat. Nick pushed me to show them how it was done and I hesitated at first but as soon as they heard I could pole dance they cheered me on. Thinking about it now it was so surreal, there must have been 40 odd people on this boat watching me and cheering, the crew loved it and I showed the man who started it how to do a few moves in front of the others, he was a really good sport and I got him body waving, doing a boomerang backslide and he even attempted the seat!

When we got back to the marina, we were the last lot off the boat and the whole crew bowed down and cheered me off, it was so sweet! I looked back at them when I had walked off and they were tidying up the boat and still attempting the moves I had shown them! I think they were impressed. I will be sending them some pictures as I don't think anyone had done this on their boat before!

Anyhoo back too reality now, I feel like I've gone on a bit but it really was such a good holiday!

I'm back doing my lessons in Liskeard again now, hope my girls enjoyed their lesson with Sam while I was away. I am training very hard and getting quite frustrated, I just want to do it all!

Great things are happening for the Art of Dance at the mo, check out Sams blog for the latest exciting news!

Good luck to Sam next week for the Miss Pole Dance finals, you go girl!

Will catch up again soon, not such a long one next time! I am planning to do a new video of my dancing since the only one on my blog was when I was a student! Watch this space!

Take it easy!

Quick catch up before I go and enjoy some sunshine!

Hey Guys,

Firstly I would like to congratulate Sam and Tamar for their fantastic performances and victory at the Pole Divas competition! You both did the Art of Dance very proud! I was especially impressed with Tamar as it was her first competition and she did an amazing performance, I really admire her for going for it and winning! She must have been so nervous, I know I would have been! Sam as always was strong, beautiful and elegant

I am off to Lanzarote today with my boyfriend Nick, Sister, her Husband and a couple of friends, we are going to be chilling out for a week, getting very drunk and
enjoying the sun! I am really looking forward to it as I have been training very hard recently and really feel ready for a holiday. I have over stressed my knee and have been in quite a lot of pain so I am under strict instruction to rest! I will however be missing my pole and probably be on a drunken hunt for one or something similar while I'm out there!

Jo will be teaching my Tuesday Lesson in Liskeard next week and Sam is covering the Wednesday so my Liskeard girls are in the best hands while I'm away! They are really looking forward to it. Be prepared for pain ladies! I know I'm tough, but Jo and Sam have taught me everything I know and they take no prisoners! You'll have a great time so enjoy!

Lastly I would also like to congratulate my wonderful boyfriend Nick for the fantastic write up about him and his Educational/Media business in the Herald a couple of weeks ago.
His business Moofu is going from strength to strength and he has worked so hard against all odds to get to where he is today. I am very proud of him, I am
also greatful for the support and encouragement he gives me with my pole dancing, he reguarly helps me when I am training by spotting me and helping me work out new moves! I think he secretly has a go when I'm not looking too!

Nick will be going straight to London when we get back from hoilday to have his picture taken by a famous photographer called Rankin as he is one of the winners of the Essence of the Entrepreneur Awards which will take place in January next year. Nick is one of twenty selected from thousands of applicants nationwide! Well done baby! I am so proud of you!!
